Description

The Banana Split Dessert Cups is a simple and fun twist on the traditional banana split sundae. Instead of piling everything into a single bowl, you make individual servings using dessert cups. These cups are layered with a base of graham cracker crumbs, followed by a cream cheese filling, fresh fruits like bananas and strawberries, and topped with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and a maraschino cherry. Each bite is a delightful combination of sweet, fruity, and creamy flavors, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Base layer:

  • 1½ cups graham cracker crumbs (or crushed vanilla wafers)

  • ¼ cup melted butter

  • 2 tbsp sugar

Filling layers:

  • 2 large bananas, sliced

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened

  • ½ cup powdered sugar

  • 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (Cool Whip or homemade whipped cream), divided

  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, drained

  • 1 cup diced strawberries (fresh or thawed frozen)

  • ½ cup chocolate syrup or hot fudge sauce

Toppings:

  • Whipped cream

  • Chopped peanuts or walnuts

  • Maraschino cherries

  • Chocolate shavings or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

1. Make the crust:

  1. In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar.

  2. Divide evenly into serving cups or jars and press lightly to form a base layer.

2. Make the cream layer:

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.

  2. Fold in ½ of the whipped topping until light and fluffy.

  3. Spoon or pipe this mixture evenly over the crust layer.

3. Layer the fruits:

  1. Add a layer of banana slices, then crushed pineapple, and then strawberries.

  2. Drizzle chocolate syrup or hot fudge over the fruit.

4. Top it off:

  1. Add a swirl or dollop of whipped cream on top.

  2. Garnish each with nuts, sprinkles, and a maraschino cherry.

5. Chill & serve:

  • Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before serving for best texture.

  • Serve cold — they’re light, fruity, and perfectly balanced!
