Description
The Blueberry Cheesecake Croissant Bombs are a sweet pastry that consists of a flaky crescent roll dough filled with a creamy cheesecake mixture and topped with fresh blueberries and blueberry jam. These bomb-like pastries are then baked to perfection, resulting in a golden, crispy exterior with a soft, gooey interior filled with sweet cream cheese and blueberry goodness. They are perfect for breakfast, brunch, or even as a dessert after dinner.
Ingredients
-
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
-
4 oz cream cheese, softened
-
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
-
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
1/2 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
-
1/4 cup blueberry jam or preserves
-
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
-
1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- Make the Cheesecake Filling:
- In a small bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Prepare the Dough:
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into 8 triangles.
- Assemble the Croissant Bombs:
- Place about 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each triangle.
- Add a few blueberries and a small dollop (about 1/2 teaspoon) of blueberry jam on top of the cream cheese mixture.
- Fold the edges of the dough over the filling, pinching to seal and form a small ball. Make sure there are no gaps so the filling doesn’t leak out during baking.
- Apply the Egg Wash:
- Place the sealed croissant bombs on the prepared baking sheet. Brush each one with the beaten egg to give them a golden, shiny finish.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the croissant bombs are golden brown and puffed.
- Cool and Garnish:
- Allow the croissant bombs to cool slightly before dusting them with powdered sugar.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Serve warm or at room temperature. These are perfect on their own or paired with a cup of coffee or tea.
