Ingredients

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp paprika or Kashmiri chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
½ tsp turmeric
Salt, to taste
½ cup crushed tomatoes or tomato purée
½ cup heavy cream (or coconut milk for dairy-free)
1 tsp sugar or honey (optional, balances acidity)
Taco Fixings
Small flour or corn tortillas
Chopped cilantro
Thinly sliced red onion or pickled onions
Lime wedges
Optional extras (highly encouraged):
Cucumber raita or yogurt sauce
Shredded cabbage or slaw
Jalapeños or green chutney
Crumbled paneer or queso fresco
Instructions
1. Make the Butter Chicken
Heat oil + butter in a pan over medium heat.
Sauté onion until soft and lightly golden (about 5–7 min).
Add garlic and ginger; cook 30 seconds until fragrant.
Stir in spices + salt. Toast for 20–30 seconds.
Add chicken and cook until mostly done.
Add tomatoes and simmer 8–10 minutes until thick and saucy.
Stir in cream and sugar (if using). Simmer 3–5 minutes.

2. Warm the Tortillas
Heat directly over a flame or in a dry skillet until soft and lightly charred.
