Instructions
Making the Churros:
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a saucepan, combine water, 2 tablespoons of sugar, salt, and vegetable oil. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in the flour and vanilla extract until a dough forms.
- Heat the Oil:
- In a deep frying pan, heat oil over medium heat (about 350°F or 175°C).
- Pipe the Churros:
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip.
- Pipe strips of dough (about 4-6 inches long) into the hot oil, cutting them with scissors. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Coat the Churros:
- Remove the churros from the oil and drain on paper towels.
- Mix 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon in a bowl and roll the churros in the mixture while they are still warm.
Making the Chocolate Dipping Sauce:
- Heat the Cream:
- In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
- Add Chocolate:
- Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips. Stir until smooth and fully melted.
- Add Sugar and Vanilla:
- If desired, stir in sugar and vanilla extract for extra flavor.
Serving
- Serve the churros warm with the chocolate dipping sauce on the side.
