Delicious Paleo Chocolate Avocado Truffles: A Guilt-Free Treat

  • Author: David Andersson
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 12 truffles 1x
  • Diet: Gluten Free

Description

Paleo Chocolate Avocado Truffles are an innovative take on the classic chocolate truffle, replacing the traditional heavy cream and butter with nutritious avocado. The result? A luxuriously creamy texture that’s not only satisfying but also good for you! These truffles are sweetened with pure maple syrup or raw honey, making them a natural alternative to refined sugars. Cocoa powder provides that rich, chocolatey flavor we all love, while the healthy fats from the avocado help to keep you feeling full and energized.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ripe avocados

  • 1 cup dark cocoa powder (unsweetened)

  • 1/3 cup pure maple syrup or raw honey (adjust to taste)

  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • Optional add-ins:

    • 12 tbsp melted coconut oil (for extra smoothness)

    • 12 tbsp almond butter or cashew butter (for creaminess)

  • For coating (choose 1 or mix):

    • Extra cocoa powder

    • Shredded unsweetened coconut

    • Finely chopped nuts (almonds, pecans, pistachios)

    • Paleo chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Prepare the avocado: Scoop out the flesh and mash until smooth, or blend in a food processor for a silky texture.

  2. Mix: Add cocoa powder, sweetener, vanilla, and salt. Blend until fully combined (a food processor works best).

  3. Chill the mixture: Transfer to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate 30–60 minutes, until firmer and scoopable.

  4. Shape the truffles: Use a small scoop or spoon to form balls. Roll between your hands quickly (it softens with warmth!).

  5. Coat: Roll each truffle in cocoa, coconut, crushed nuts, etc.

  6. Set: Refrigerate again for at least 15–20 minutes to firm up.

Notes

These creamy, rich truffles are perfect for satisfying your chocolate cravings the healthy way! Store them in the refrigerator for up to a week or freeze for a longer shelf life. You can also roll them in cocoa powder, shredded coconut, or crushed nuts for extra texture and flavor.
