Frozen Miami Vice Cocktail Recipe – Tropical Delight

  • Author: David Andersson
  • Total Time: 10 minutes

Description

The Frozen Miami Vice Cocktail is a tropical layered drink that marries two classic frozen cocktails into one stunning presentation. On the bottom, you have a refreshing strawberry daiquiri layer—packed with sweet-tart strawberry flavor and a hint of lime. On top, a creamy piña colada layer brings smooth coconut and pineapple notes, creating a delightful contrast of flavors and textures. Perfect for summer parties, poolside lounging, or any occasion where you want to transport your guests to a beachside paradise, the Frozen Miami Vice Cocktail is both eye-catching and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Strawberry Daiquiri Layer:

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 1/2 oz light rum
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup (or to taste)
  • 1 cup ice

For the Piña Colada Layer:

  • 1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 1/2 oz light rum
  • 1 oz coconut cream (like Coco Lopez)
  • 1 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 cup ice

Garnish (optional):

  • Pineapple wedge
  • Strawberry
  • Maraschino cherry

Instructions

1. Make the Strawberry Daiquiri Layer

  1. In a blender, combine frozen strawberries, rum, lime juice, simple syrup, and ice.
  2. Blend until smooth and slushy.
  3. Pour into a glass, filling it halfway. Place the glass in the freezer while you make the next layer.

2. Make the Piña Colada Layer

  1. Rinse the blender.
  2. Add frozen pineapple, rum, coconut cream, pineapple juice, and ice.
  3. Blend until smooth and creamy.

3. Layer the Cocktail

  1. Gently pour or spoon the piña colada layer over the strawberry daiquiri layer in the glass.
  2. For a swirled effect, use a straw to gently swirl the two layers together.

4. Garnish & Serve

  1. Garnish with a pineapple wedge, strawberry, or cherry if desired.
  2. Serve immediately with a straw.

Notes

For an extra splash of flair, garnish with a pineapple wedge, maraschino cherry, or a twist of lime. To elevate the presentation, serve in a chilled hurricane glass and layer the strawberry and pina colada mixtures carefully for that classic Miami Vice look. Perfect for summer parties or beach vibes at home!
