  • 1½ tsp baking powder

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp cinnamon (optional)

  • ½ cup milk

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 tbsp melted butter (or oil)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

(Or use store-bought plain donut holes if you want to skip baking and just decorate!)

For frying (if not baking/air frying):

  • Neutral oil (vegetable or canola), for frying

For the glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar

  • 23 tbsp milk (adjust for thickness)

  • Food coloring (orange, purple, green, black, red, etc.)

  • Candy eyeballs, sprinkles, mini chocolate chips, or melted chocolate for decorating


Instructions

1. Make the batter:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.

  2. In another bowl, whisk milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla.

  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients until just mixed (don’t overmix).


2. Cook the donut holes:

👉 Option A — Bake:

  • Spoon batter into a greased mini muffin tin or donut hole pan.

  • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 10–12 minutes, until golden and set.

👉 Option B — Air Fry:

  • Drop small spoonfuls into a greased air fryer basket.

  • Air fry at 350°F (175°C) for 5–6 minutes, until golden brown.

👉 Option C — Fry:

  • Heat oil in a pot to 350°F (175°C).

  • Fry teaspoon-sized dough balls 2–3 minutes per side, until golden.

  • Drain on paper towels.


3. Make the glaze:

  1. Whisk powdered sugar and milk until smooth.

  2. Divide into small bowls and tint with food coloring.


4. Decorate — Halloween Style!
