Description
Jalapeño Popper Dip is a warm, creamy dip that mimics the taste of classic jalapeño poppers. Instead of individually stuffed peppers, all the elements — spicy jalapeños, rich cream cheese, sharp cheddar, and often crispy bacon — are combined into one decadent dish. It’s baked until bubbly and golden, topped with a buttery breadcrumb crust that gives every bite a delightful crunch.
Ingredients
For the Dip:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sour cream
- ¼ cup mayonnaise
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 oz diced jalapeños (fresh or canned)
- ⅓ cup crumbled cooked bacon (optional but highly recommended)
- 2 green onions, chopped (optional)
For the Topping:
- 1 cup Panko bread crumbs
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish to prevent sticking.
2. Prepare the Base
In a large bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, and garlic powder until smooth and creamy. This will form the luscious base of your dip.
3. Add the Flavor Elements
Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, ½ cup Parmesan, diced jalapeños, crumbled bacon, and chopped green onions. Mix until well combined.
4. Spread in the Baking Dish
Transfer the mixture to your greased baking dish, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
5. Make the Crunchy Topping
In a separate bowl, combine the Panko bread crumbs, ¼ cup Parmesan, melted butter, and optional chopped parsley. Mix until the crumbs are fully coated in butter.
6. Top the Dip
Sprinkle the breadcrumb topping evenly over the dip base.
7. Bake
Bake in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
8. Serve Warm
Serve immediately with tortilla chips, crackers, or toasted baguette slices.
Notes
For a crispy, golden topping, sprinkle breadcrumbs mixed with melted butter over the dip before baking. Want more heat? Add extra diced jalapeños or a pinch of cayenne pepper. This dip pairs perfectly with tortilla chips, pretzels, or even fresh veggie sticks for dipping!
