Ingredients
For the Cream Layer:
1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream, cold
8 oz (225 g) mascarpone cheese, softened
¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
For the Coffee Layer:
¾ cup (180 ml) strong brewed coffee or espresso, cooled
1–2 tbsp coffee liqueur (Kahlúa or rum — optional)
For Assembly:
About 12–14 ladyfinger cookies (savoiardi), broken in half if needed
Unsweetened cocoa powder (for dusting)
Optional toppings: chocolate shavings, espresso beans, or whipped cream
Instructions
Make the Mascarpone Cream:
In a large bowl, beat the heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
In a separate bowl, gently whisk the mascarpone until smooth.
Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone until fully combined and fluffy.
Prepare the Coffee Mixture:
Combine brewed coffee and liqueur (if using) in a shallow dish.
Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the coffee mixture — about 1 second per side so they don’t get soggy.
Assemble the Parfaits:
In each mason jar, layer as follows:
A few coffee-soaked ladyfingers (broken to fit the jar)
A generous spoonful of mascarpone cream
Light dusting of cocoa powder
Repeat the layers until you reach the top, finishing with a layer of cream.
Chill:
Cover jars and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (overnight is ideal for flavor melding).
Serve:
Just before serving, dust the tops with cocoa powder and garnish with chocolate curls or coffee beans.
