Description
A Steakhouse Burger is a gourmet-style burger inspired by the bold and flavorful dishes served at upscale steakhouses. Unlike regular fast food burgers, steakhouse burgers often feature premium ground beef, savory seasoning, and a combination of rich toppings like melted cheese, crispy bacon, and tangy dressings. The idea behind the steakhouse burger is to take the best elements of a steak and put them into a delicious, handheld format.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs 80/20 ground beef (for the best balance of flavor and juiciness)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 4 brioche buns
- 4 slices cheddar or Swiss cheese
- 8 slices thick-cut bacon (optional, for extra richness)
- ½ cup blue cheese dressing (optional)
- ½ red onion, sliced
- 4 large cherry tomatoes, sliced
- ½ head iceberg lettuce
- 2 tbsp butter (for toasting buns)
Instructions
- Prepare the beef mixture: In a large bowl, mix ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Gently combine without overmixing.
- Shape the patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into thick patties (about ¾-inch thick).
- Chill the patties: Place patties on a plate and refrigerate for 30 minutes to help them hold their shape while cooking.
- Cook the bacon (if using): Fry bacon in a pan until crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Grill or pan-sear the burgers: Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes per side, flipping once, until they reach 160°F (71°C) internally.
- Melt the cheese: Place a slice of cheddar or Swiss cheese on each patty during the last 1-2 minutes of cooking. Cover to help it melt.
- Toast the buns: Spread butter on the cut sides of the brioche buns and toast them in a pan or on the grill until golden brown.
- Assemble the burgers: Place lettuce, tomato, and onion on the bottom bun. Add the burger patty, followed by bacon (if using) and blue cheese dressing (optional). Top with the toasted bun.
