Description

Imagine the creamy richness of fudge, infused with maple sweetness, crowned with crunchy popcorn and kissed by a hint of sea salt. That’s exactly what this Salted Maple Popcorn Fudge delivers—a decadent treat that balances sweet, salty, smooth, and crisp in one delightful square. It’s a dessert that feels both playful and indulgent, perfect for sharing or treating yourself.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Fudge:

  • 1 (14 oz / 400 g) can sweetened condensed milk

  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup (not pancake syrup)

  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter

  • 2 cups white chocolate chips (or chopped white chocolate)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/4 tsp fine sea salt

For the Topping:

  • 2 cups plain or lightly salted popped popcorn (air-popped or bagged)

  • 1 tbsp maple syrup or melted butter (to help the salt stick)

  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

1. Prepare the Pan

  • Line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal later.

2. Make the Fudge Base

  1. In a medium saucepan over low to medium heat, combine condensed milk, maple syrup, and butter.

  2. Stir frequently until hot and smooth (do not boil).

  3. Add white chocolate chips and stir constantly until melted and thick.

  4. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and salt.

3. Assemble

  1. Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

  2. Quickly scatter popcorn evenly over the top.

  3. Drizzle with a bit of maple syrup or butter to help the salt adhere.

  4. Lightly press popcorn into the fudge (so it sticks but stays visible).

  5. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.

4. Chill

  • Refrigerate for 2–3 hours, or until firm.

  • Once set, lift the fudge from the pan and cut into squares.

Notes

This Salted Maple Popcorn Fudge is the perfect blend of sweet, salty, and crunchy. For an extra touch, drizzle a little melted dark chocolate on top or sprinkle with flaky sea salt before the fudge sets. It also makes a great homemade gift or festive party treat!
