Ingredients
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp culinary-grade matcha powder
¼ tsp baking soda
Pinch of salt
¼ cup unsalted butter, softened
¼ cup granulated sugar
1 large egg yolk
½ tsp vanilla extract
Optional: 2 tbsp white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a bowl, whisk flour, matcha, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth.
Mix in egg yolk and vanilla.
Add dry ingredients and mix just until combined.
Fold in white chocolate if using.
Scoop 1½ tbsp dough per cookie and place 2 inches apart.
Bake 9–11 minutes, until edges are set and centers look slightly soft.
Cool on baking sheet 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
