Description

Texas Chocolate Pecan Pie Brownies combine the fudgy richness of brownies with the gooey sweetness of pecan pie topping. This Southern-inspired dessert is decadent, chewy, and packed with nutty crunch—perfect for holidays, family gatherings, or whenever you crave a little indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Brownie Base:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks), melted
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt

For the Pecan Pie Topping:

  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup (or maple syrup substitute)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups pecan halves (toasted for extra flavor)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven: Set the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

  • Make the brownie base:

    • Melt butter and chocolate together until smooth.

    • Whisk in sugars, eggs, and vanilla.

    • Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold gently until just combined.

    • Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.

  • Prepare the pecan topping:

    • In a bowl, whisk corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla.

    • Stir in pecans until well coated.

    • Carefully pour mixture over brownie batter.

  • Bake: Place in oven and bake for 40–45 minutes until edges are set and center is slightly soft.

  • Cool & Serve: Allow brownies to cool completely before slicing into squares. For clean edges, chill in the fridge before cutting.

Notes

  • For a boozy twist, add 2 tbsp bourbon to the pecan topping.
  • Substitute almond flour and sugar-free syrup for a gluten-free/keto-friendly version.
  • Toasting pecans before adding them enhances the nutty flavor.
