Description
Watermelon Popsicles are a type of frozen dessert made primarily from watermelon, one of the most hydrating and sweet fruits available. These popsicles are typically made by blending fresh watermelon with a touch of sweetness like honey or agave syrup, then freezing the mixture in molds. You can add a hint of lime juice for extra flavor, or even garnish the popsicles with mint leaves for a beautiful and refreshing touch.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups seedless watermelon, cubed
- 1–2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (optional, adjust for sweetness)
- 1 tablespoon lime juice (optional, for added flavor)
- Mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Prepare the Watermelon:
- Cut the watermelon into cubes and remove any seeds if necessary.
- Blend the Watermelon:
- Place the watermelon cubes in a blender. If desired, add honey or agave syrup and lime juice.
- Blend until smooth. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed.
- Pour into Molds:
- Pour the watermelon puree into popsicle molds, leaving a little space at the top for expansion.
- Insert Sticks:
- Place popsicle sticks into the molds. If your molds allow, you can insert them after about an hour of freezing when the mixture has slightly thickened.
- Freeze:
- Freeze for at least 4-6 hours, or until completely solid.
- Unmold and Serve:
- To remove the popsicles, run warm water over the outside of the molds for a few seconds.
- Gently pull the popsicles out and serve immediately. Garnish with mint leaves if desired.
Notes
For a fun twist, add a handful of chopped mint or a squeeze of lime juice before blending. You can also mix in a few whole blueberries or kiwi slices for extra color, flavor, and texture. Perfect for hot summer days!
