The Ultimate Butterbeer-Inspired Halal Mocktail Recipe

  • Author: David Andersson
  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 2 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

This specialized Butterbeer-inspired halal mocktail is a decadent, alcohol-free beverage crafted to emulate the famed butterscotch and caramel drinks popularized in modern pop culture. Unlike standard soda floats or simple dynamic drinks, this concoction harmonizes rich syrups, dairy creams, dynamic spices, and carbonation into a seamless treat. It boasts a distinct balance between the crisp fizz of soda and the smooth, buttery texture of freshly whipped cream.

Ingredients

Scale

For the mocktail

  • 1 cup (240 ml) cream soda, chilled
  • ½ cup (120 ml) sparkling water
  • 2 tbsp caramel syrup
  • 1 tbsp vanilla syrup
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream or whipping cream
  • ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • Tiny pinch of salt
  • Ice

For the creamy topping

  • ¼ cup (60 ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract

Optional garnish

  • Caramel sauce
  • A pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg
  • Butterscotch-style syrup made without alcohol

Instructions

  • Make the topping: Whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft and fluffy.
  • Mix the base: In a glass or pitcher, combine the caramel syrup, vanilla syrup, cream, cinnamon, and salt.
  • Slowly add the chilled cream soda and sparkling water. Stir gently so you don’t lose too much fizz.
  • Fill two glasses with ice and pour in the mocktail.
  • Spoon the vanilla cream topping over each glass.
  • Drizzle with a little caramel sauce and dust with cinnamon.

Notes

Check the labels of cream soda, caramel/butterscotch syrups, and vanilla flavorings. Choose products that are halal-certified or clearly free from alcohol and non-halal ingredients. In particular, avoid vanilla or flavoring products containing ethanol/alcohol as an ingredient if you want the safest halal formulation.
