Description
At its heart, this iconic dessert is a beautiful celebration of simple, rustic baking that emphasizes contrasting temperatures and textures. It starts with an abundant layer of fresh, thinly sliced fruit that has been tossed in a fragrant blend of warming spices and sweet sugars. As it bakes in the oven, the fruit softens beautifully, releasing its natural juices to form a rich, thick syrup right inside the baking dish.
