  • Author: David Andersson
  • Total Time: 55 minutes
  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Description

At its core, this meal is a brilliant culinary crossover that merges Italian-inspired stuffed pasta with American bar-food flavors. The foundation relies on giant pasta shapes that serve as edible cups, which are then packed to the brim with a rich filling made of shredded meat, smooth cheese blends, and aromatic green peppers.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Stuffed Shells

  • 24 jumbo pasta shells
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 23 jalapeños, seeded and finely diced (leave some seeds for extra heat if desired)
  • 2 green onions, finely sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper

For the Sauce

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Optional Toppings

  • 4 slices turkey bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Extra sliced jalapeños
  • Chopped fresh parsley or green onions

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Cook the jumbo pasta shells according to the package directions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cool water.
  • In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, ½ cup mozzarella, Parmesan, diced jalapeños, green onions, garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  • Fill each cooked pasta shell generously with the chicken mixture and arrange them in the prepared baking dish.
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, chicken broth, garlic powder, black pepper, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Stir until the cheese melts and the sauce is smooth.
  • Pour the sauce evenly over the stuffed shells.
  • Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup mozzarella over the top.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden.
  • Garnish with turkey bacon, extra jalapeños, and chopped parsley or green onions before serving.

Notes

Enjoy these creamy, spicy, and cheesy stuffed shells with a crisp green salad or garlic bread for a comforting and flavorful meal.
