Description
At its core, fruit chaat with chaat masala is a popular street food and household snack that blends a variety of freshly chopped seasonal fruits with a distinctive mix of dry spices, salt, and sour citrus. The word chaat comes from the Hindi verb meaning to lick, referring to dishes so delicious that they leave you licking your fingers clean. While many street chaats rely on fried dough, boiled potatoes, or crisp wafers, the fruit version uses fresh produce as its main foundation.

- 1 cup apple, diced
- 1 cup banana, sliced

- 1 small cucumber, diced (optional)
- 1–2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1–2 tsp chaat masala
- ½ tsp roasted cumin powder
- ¼ tsp black salt
- 1–2 tsp honey or sugar, optional

- Drizzle with fresh lemon juice.

- Add honey or sugar if you prefer a sweeter chaat.
- Gently toss everything together, taking care not to crush the fruits.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves.
- Chill for 10–15 minutes before serving for the best flavor.
Notes
Add the chaat masala and lemon juice just before serving to keep the fruits fresh and prevent them from becoming watery. You can also add seasonal fruits such as grapes, mango, papaya, or strawberries.
