Description
To understand this dessert, you have to rethink what a cookie can be. Traditionally, a cookie is a flat, baked disc with crisp edges and a chewy center. A fudgy microwave cookie-in-a-mug, however, is a hybrid creation. It combines the rich, buttery flavor profile of a classic chocolate chip cookie with the moist, dense, and spoonable texture of a molten lava cake or a rich brownie.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp white sugar
- 1 tbsp milk
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Pinch of salt
- 1–2 tbsp chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a microwave-safe mug, melt the butter (about 15–20 seconds).
- Stir in the brown sugar and white sugar until combined.
- Mix in the milk and vanilla.
- Add the flour and salt. Stir until a soft cookie dough forms.
- Fold in most of the chocolate chips, saving a few for the top.
- Microwave on high for 40–60 seconds. Start with 40 seconds; the center should still look slightly soft.
- Let it cool for 1–2 minutes. It will continue to set while staying fudgy.
Notes
This quick cookie-in-a-mug is perfect when you’re craving something sweet but don’t want to bake a whole batch. Enjoy it warm for the ultimate fudgy, gooey texture!
