Description
When we talk about traditional bread knots, most people immediately picture the classic Italian American pizzeria staple made from leftover pizza dough. However, Garlic Butter Naan Garlic Bread Knots take this beloved concept and elevate it entirely by substituting traditional pizza dough with soft, tender Indian flatbread.
Ingredients
For the Knots
- 4 naan breads
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 4 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- ½ tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
- ¼ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp grated Parmesan (optional)
For Extra Garlic Butter
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Prepare the garlic butter
Mix the melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, chili flakes, and salt in a small bowl.
2. Cut the naan
Cut each naan into strips about 2–3 cm wide. If the naan is very thick, gently flatten the strips with your fingers.
3. Form the knots
Tie each naan strip into a loose knot, tucking the ends underneath. Don’t make the knots too tight—they’ll puff slightly while baking.
4. Add the garlic butter
Place the knots on a parchment-lined baking tray. Brush generously with the garlic butter mixture.
5. Bake
Bake at 190°C / 375°F for 8–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and crisp.
For extra browning, switch to the broiler/grill for the final 1–2 minutes, watching carefully.
6. Finish
Melt the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter with garlic and parsley. Brush it over the hot knots immediately after baking. Sprinkle with Parmesan if desired.
