The Ultimate Holiday Charcuterie Wreath Board

  • Author: David Andersson
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 10–12 servings 1x

Description

At its core, a holiday charcuterie wreath board is an artfully arranged, open-centered grazing platter. The layout forms a festive circular wreath shape. Traditional charcuterie layouts line up ingredients in straight, parallel rows. This recipe arranges cured meats, specialty cheeses, fresh fruits, crunchy nuts, and crisp crackers along the perimeter of a large round platter instead.

Ingredients

Scale

Meats

  • 4 oz (115 g) prosciutto
  • 4 oz (115 g) salami
  • 4 oz (115 g) soppressata or pepperoni

Cheeses

  • 4 oz (115 g) Brie, cut into small wedges
  • 4 oz (115 g) cheddar, cubed
  • 4 oz (115 g) Gouda, cubed

Fruits & extras

  • 1 cup red grapes
  • 1 cup green grapes
  • ½ cup fresh cranberries
  • ½ cup dried apricots
  • ½ cup olives
  • ⅓ cup roasted almonds
  • ⅓ cup pistachios
  • ½ cup crackers
  • ¼ cup cornichons or small pickles

For garnish

  • Fresh rosemary sprigs
  • Fresh thyme
  • Optional: small pomegranate seeds or orange slices

Instructions

  • Prepare the board: Use a large round serving board or platter. Place a small bowl or ramekin in the center to create the wreath’s open center.
  • Create the greenery: Arrange rosemary and thyme sprigs around the outer edge of the board, forming a circular wreath shape.
  • Add the cheeses: Arrange Brie, cheddar, and Gouda around the wreath in several small clusters, leaving spaces between them.
  • Add the meats: Fold prosciutto into loose ribbons and fold or roll the salami and soppressata. Arrange them in clusters around the cheeses.
  • Fill the gaps: Add red and green grapes, cranberries, dried apricots, olives, almonds, pistachios, and pickles throughout the wreath.
  • Add crackers: Tuck crackers into several sections around the board rather than putting them all in one place.
  • Decorate: Fill any remaining gaps with cranberries, pomegranate seeds, or herbs. Keep the center open so the arrangement clearly resembles a wreath.
  • Serve: Place the board out about 20–30 minutes before serving so the cheeses can come closer to room temperature.

Notes

For the prettiest holiday look, repeat red, green, and creamy cheese colors around the wreath rather than grouping each ingredient in one area.
