Jalapeño Popper Pull-Apart Biscuits

The Ultimate Comfort Food: Jalapeño Popper Pull-Apart Biscuits

  • Author: David Andersson
  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 8 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

At its core, this dish is a brilliant fusion of two ultimate comfort foods. It takes the key components of a stuffed spicy pepper and bakes them directly into layers of flaky biscuit dough. Instead of stuffing individual peppers, which can be tedious and messy, you cut up the dough and layer it with an incredible cream cheese filling. As it bakes in the oven, the dough rises and expands, trapping the pockets of cheese, bacon, and peppers between every single layer. This creates a beautiful, tear-able structure where every bite is guaranteed to have a perfect balance of bread and filling.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Biscuits

  • 2 cans refrigerated biscuit dough (8-count each)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 23 jalapeños, finely chopped (remove seeds for less heat)
  • ½ cup cooked bacon, crumbled (optional but recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste

Optional Add-ins

  • Monterey Jack cheese for extra meltiness
  • Chopped green onions
  • Pinch of cayenne for heat lovers

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a loaf pan or round baking dish.

2. Prepare Filling

In a bowl, mix:

  • Cream cheese
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Jalapeños
  • Bacon (if using)

Stir until evenly combined.

3. Cut Biscuit Dough

  • Cut each biscuit into quarters.
  • Toss lightly with a pinch of salt, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

4. Assemble

  • Layer half the biscuit pieces in the baking dish.
  • Spoon half the cheese mixture over them.
  • Repeat layers with remaining biscuits and filling.

5. Add Butter

  • Drizzle melted butter evenly over the top.
  • Sprinkle a little extra cheese if desired.

6. Bake

  • Bake for 22–25 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  • If browning too quickly, cover loosely with foil.

7. Serve

  • Let rest for 5–10 minutes.
  • Pull apart and serve warm and cheesy.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer to bring back the crispy texture.
