Description

At its core, loaded halal beef nacho fries is a sensational fusion creation that replaces traditional tortilla chips with crisp, golden French fries as the structural base. Instead of scooping up salsa and cheese with corn chips, you get the irresistible texture of hot, seasoned fries holding up a mountain of rich savory toppings.

Ingredients

Scale

For the fries

  • 500 g frozen French fries
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • ½ tsp paprika

For the beef topping

  • 300 g halal ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ½ tsp chili powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp tomato sauce or salsa
  • 2 tbsp water

For the toppings

  • 150200 g shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
  • 12 jalapeños, sliced
  • ½ cup diced tomato
  • ¼ cup diced red onion
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 23 tbsp sour cream
  • 23 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce or sriracha
  • ½ avocado, diced (optional)

Instructions

  • Cook the fries:
Bake or air-fry the fries according to the package directions until golden and crispy. Season with paprika and a little salt.
  • Make the beef:
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground halal beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  • Season:
Add the onion and cook for 2–3 minutes. Add garlic, paprika, cumin, chili powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir well.
  • Finish the beef:
Add tomato sauce and water. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the beef is juicy but not watery.
  • Make the sauce:
Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, and hot sauce together. Add a splash of water if you want a thinner drizzle.
  • Layer:
Spread the hot fries on a large oven-safe platter or baking tray. Add the seasoned beef and sprinkle generously with cheese.
  • Melt:
Place under a hot broiler/grill for about 1–2 minutes, just until the cheese melts. Watch carefully so it doesn’t burn.
  • Finish:
Top with jalapeños, tomato, red onion, cilantro, avocado, and a generous drizzle of the creamy sauce.
