Pink Champagne Cupcakes

The Ultimate Guide to Baking Elegant Pink Champagne Cupcakes for Celebrations

  • Author: David Andersson
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 12 cupcakes 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

At their core, pink champagne cupcakes are a gourmet twist on the classic white or yellow cupcake. What sets them apart is the substitution of part of the traditional liquid components—usually milk or water—with actual pink champagne or sparkling rosé. This addition does more than just provide a fancy name; the carbonation in the wine actually helps to aerate the batter, resulting in a crumb that is incredibly fine and delicate.

Ingredients

Scale

For the cupcakes:

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup pink champagne (or sparkling rosé)
  • ¼ cup milk
  • Pink food coloring (optional, for a soft pink hue)

For the frosting:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp pink champagne
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pink food coloring (optional)

Optional toppings:

  • Edible glitter, sprinkles, or fresh berries

  • Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).

  • Gradually mix in dry ingredients, alternating with milk and pink champagne, until smooth.
  • Add a few drops of pink food coloring if desired.

3. Bake

  • Fill cupcake liners ⅔ full.
  • Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • Cool completely on a wire rack.

4. Make the frosting

  • Beat butter until creamy.
  • Gradually add powdered sugar, then pink champagne and vanilla, until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add food coloring if desired.

5. Decorate
