  • 1 tsp chili powder (optional)
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce, plus more for serving
  • ½ cup beef broth
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

For the sliders

  • 1012 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 12 cups coleslaw (optional)
  • Pickle slices
  • Melted butter (optional, for brushing buns)
  • Sesame seeds (optional)

Instructions

  • Season the brisket
    • Mix the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, chili powder, and brown sugar.
    • Rub the mixture all over the brisket.
  • Prepare the slow cooker
    • Place the brisket in the slow cooker.
    • Add the Worcestershire sauce, barbecue sauce, beef broth, and apple cider vinegar around the meat.
  • Cook
    • Cook on Low for 8–10 hours or High for 5–6 hours, until the brisket is very tender and easily shreds with a fork.
  • Shred
    • Transfer the brisket to a cutting board.
    • Remove excess fat if desired.
    • Shred the meat using two forks.
  • Mix with sauce
    • Return the shredded beef to the slow cooker.
    • Stir it into the cooking juices.
    • Add extra barbecue sauce if you’d like a saucier filling.
    • Let it sit for 10–15 minutes on the Warm setting.
  • Assemble the sliders
    • Lightly toast the buns if desired.
    • Pile the pulled brisket onto the buns.
    • Top with coleslaw and pickle slices.
    • Brush the tops with melted butter and warm briefly in the oven (optional).
