Description
The term swicy has taken the culinary world by storm, representing the brilliant marriage of sweet and spicy elements within a single dish. This frozen confection is the absolute definition of that philosophy, offering a sophisticated alternative to traditional ice pops.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups ripe mango, peeled and diced (about 2 large mangoes)
- ¼ cup fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)
- ½ teaspoon chili powder (such as ancho or Kashmiri chili powder)
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra heat)
- 1 teaspoon lime zest
- Pinch of fine sea salt
- ¼ cup water, if needed for blending
For Garnish (Optional)
- ½ teaspoon flaky sea salt
- Extra chili powder
- Lime wedges
Instructions
- Add the diced mango, lime juice, honey, chili powder, cayenne (if using), lime zest, and sea salt to a blender.
- Blend until completely smooth. If the mixture is too thick, add a little water until it pours easily.
- Taste and adjust the sweetness, lime, or chili to your preference.
- Pour the mixture evenly into popsicle molds, leaving a little space at the top.
- Insert popsicle sticks and freeze for at least 6 hours, or until completely firm.
- To unmold, run the molds under warm water for 10–15 seconds, then gently pull out the popsicles.
- If desired, sprinkle lightly with flaky sea salt and a pinch of chili powder just before serving, or serve with fresh lime wedges for squeezing over the top.
Notes
Sweet, spicy, and irresistibly refreshing, these popsicles are the ultimate way to cool down on a hot day. Every bite delivers juicy mango, zesty lime, and just the right touch of chili heat.
