Description

¼ tsp cinnamon (optional)
Finish

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Coarse sugar (optional)
Instructions
1. Make the Dough

In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt.

Cut in cold butter until pea-sized crumbs form.

Add ice water, 1 tablespoon at a time, just until dough comes together.

Form into a disk, wrap, and chill for 30 minutes.
2. Brown Butter Crumble

Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Cook until it foams and turns golden brown with a nutty aroma.

Remove from heat and cool slightly.

Stir in flour, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon until crumbly.

Chill while assembling the galette.
3. Berry Filling
In a bowl, gently toss berries with sugar, cornstarch, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla.
4. Assemble

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll dough into a 12-inch circle on parchment paper.

Spoon berry filling into the center, leaving a 2-inch border.

Fold edges over the fruit, pleating as needed.

Sprinkle crumble generously over the berries.

Brush crust with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar if using.
5. Bake
Bake for 40–45 minutes, until crust is deep golden and filling is bubbling.
