For the Butter Board

  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp flaky sea salt
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme leaves
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • Edible flowers (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

Make the Focaccia

  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and instant yeast.
  2. Add the warm water and olive oil, then mix until a sticky dough forms.
  3. Cover and let the dough rise for 1–2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  4. Generously oil a 9×13-inch baking pan and transfer the dough into it.
  5. Gently stretch the dough to fit the pan. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  7. Drizzle the dough with olive oil, then use your fingertips to create dimples across the surface.
  8. Sprinkle with rosemary and flaky sea salt.
  9. Bake for 22–28 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Let cool for 10 minutes before slicing.

Prepare the Butter Board

  1. Spread the softened butter evenly onto a wooden serving board or shallow serving platter using the back of a spoon or an offset spatula.
  2. Drizzle with honey.
  3. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt, lemon zest, parsley, chives, thyme, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Garnish with edible flowers if desired.
