The Ultimate Guide to Crafting Wagyu Blend Smash Burger Tacos

  • Author: David Andersson
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

At its heart, the Wagyu Blend Smash Burger Tacos recipe is a brilliant technical modification of the classic American smash burger. Traditionally, a burger is a thick patty served on a bun. However, the smash technique involves taking a loosely packed ball of ground beef and pressing it with significant force onto a screaming hot cooking surface. This creates a thin, uneven patty with jagged edges that become incredibly crispy and caramelized.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 400g Wagyu ground beef (or Wagyu blend)
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion (finely diced)
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tomato (diced)
  • 810 pickle slices

For the Sauce:

  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tsp pickle juice
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder

Instructions

1. Make the sauce
In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle juice, paprika, and garlic powder. Set aside.

2. Prep the beef
Divide the Wagyu beef into 8 small balls (about 50g each).

3. Smash onto tortillas
Place each beef ball onto a tortilla and press it down firmly to spread thin across the surface.

4. Cook the tacos
Heat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
Place tortillas meat-side down and cook for 2–3 minutes until the beef develops a crispy crust.

5. Flip & add cheese
Flip the tortilla, add cheese on top of the beef, and cook another 1–2 minutes until melted.

6. Assemble
Remove from pan and top w

Notes

These smash burger tacos combine crispy beef, melty cheese, and fresh toppings for the perfect bite every time. You can easily customize them with spicy jalapeños, different cheeses, or extra sauce for more flavor. Best enjoyed fresh off the pan while the tortillas are still crisp and the cheese is perfectly melted.
