Description
Understanding what makes whipped matcha green tea cold foam special starts with its texture. Traditional hot frothed milk relies on steam. Cold foam is created by aerating chilled dairy without heat. This creates a fluffy, velvet-like consistency. It floats delicately on top of cold liquids. It does not dissolve immediately into the drink below.
Ingredients
Scale
- ½ cup (120 ml) cold heavy cream
- 2 tbsp cold milk (whole milk works best)
- 1–2 tsp matcha powder
- 1–2 tbsp powdered sugar or simple syrup, to taste
- ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Sift the matcha into a small bowl to remove lumps.
- Add 2 tbsp cold milk and whisk until the matcha is completely smooth.
- Add the matcha mixture, heavy cream, sweetener, and vanilla to a bowl.
- Using a handheld milk frother or electric mixer, whip for about 30–60 seconds, until thick, creamy, and fluffy but still pourable.
- Spoon or pour the cold foam over your favorite iced coffee, iced matcha, or cold milk.
- Finish with a tiny dusting of matcha on top.
