Description
At its most fundamental level, a chocolate peanut butter shake is a cold, blended beverage that combines the rich cocoa notes of chocolate with the salty, nutty goodness of peanut butter, all brought together by a liquid base like milk or ice cream. While some people view it as a quick, drinkable snack, others treat it as a decadent dessert served in a tall, chilled glass with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle on top.
Ingredients
- 1 cup cold milk
- 2 tbsp peanut butter
- 1½ tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1–2 tbsp sugar or honey, to taste
- 1 small ripe banana (optional, for extra creaminess)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- 5–6 ice cubes
- 2 tbsp chocolate syrup (optional)
Instructions
- Add the milk, peanut butter, cocoa powder, sweetener, banana, vanilla, and ice to a blender.
- Blend for 30–60 seconds until smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust the sweetness or peanut butter as desired.
- Pour into a chilled glass.
- Drizzle with chocolate syrup and add a little peanut butter on top if you like.
Tip: For a thicker, dessert-style shake, use ½ cup milk + ½ cup vanilla ice cream instead of 1 cup milk.
Notes
You can adjust the sweetness and thickness according to your preference. For a richer and creamier shake, add a scoop of vanilla or chocolate ice cream. You can also top it with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, or crushed peanuts for extra flavor.
